Fracture Field Layer Progression Guide — Stone to Supernatural

Layer-by-layer overview: what changes as hardness rises, how to farm efficiently, and how to transition without stalling your Dust income.

Layer Mechanics Overview

Progression is driven by layers with increasing hardness and value. The key is to avoid abandoning earlier layers: they remain your reliable, high-volume shatter source while you push deeper. If you move all your power to the newest layer too early, your Dust flow becomes spiky and you stall.

Stone (Hardness ~2–4)

Stone is your baseline farming layer. It shatters reliably and is perfect for keeping Dust flowing in the background. Even late, keeping some drones on Stone prevents the quarry from clogging and keeps a stable income floor.

Clay (Hardness ~8–12)

Clay is the first hardness jump where Pierce starts to matter. Push Clay in bursts, but keep Stone running. If Clay feels slow, invest in Pierce until shatters return—then scale Fracture again.

Sandstone (Hardness ~18–25)

Sandstone is a common wall. Space management becomes part of the economy: a full quarry means no spawns, which means no progress. Balance drone targeting and keep a clearing strategy ready.

Precious Metals / Gems / Supernatural

Deeper layers tend to be less about manual swings and more about stable automation, correct targeting, and smart reset timing. When you reach these layers, treat your setup as a system: collection, shatter throughput, and spawn space all matter at once.

Layer Transition Strategy

If you're about to transition, make sure your current layer can still fund upgrades passively. A practical pattern is to keep a portion of drones on your proven farming layer while you experiment deeper.

Which layer should I farm in early game?
Stone. Even after unlocking Clay, Stone is often the best baseline layer for steady Dust income.
Why does progress stop suddenly?
Most often the quarry is full and rocks can't spawn. Restore space and keep some shatter coverage on easy layers.
